As a professional artist, one of the great joys in my adventure has been working within my community to promote and support the arts and our role as artists. There are so many opportunities for an artist to showcase their talents by partnering with local businesses! One example is the partnership I’ve gained working with Manatawny Stillworks Distillery in Pottstown. They have such a great atmosphere and the staff becomes like family almost instantly! The bartenders join in the setup of each event, whether it’s the Maker’s Markets or the Cocktails and Canvas workshops that I host. (See the events page at bohnsbones.com) I enjoy telling my current and prospective clients about our relationship and their great venue to ensure that they get more traffic and exposure, which only helps me when my clients decide to join in at my workshops and market tables. Helping to promote each other on Social Media – Facebook, Instagram, etc. is a great connection we share because we’re both on the mission of bringing in and celebrating our connection with as many people as we can reach. Our social media collaborations allow us to have client crossover, with my clients discovering their great whiskeys and other products and events, and their clients get to experience my workshops and my gourd and pyrography products.
The reason we came together was because Pottstown Area Artists Guild recommended Manatawny Stillworks call me about their Maker’s Market. The three of us have found connecting on Instagram is beneficial for the three of us because people are seeing our connection when we share the same posts.
I would encourage all artists to look closely in their community for businesses who would benefit by a mutual relationship that gives both parties chances for advancing each other and providing great products to their community. Feel free to give me a call if you’re interested in talking about this experience further. Find more information about me at bohnsbones.com.
